Do Justly, Love Mercy, Walk Humbly

Do Justly, Love Mercy, Walk Humbly

There are more slaves today than any other time in history, babies’ lives are ended while still in their mother’s womb, orphans are left alone and uncared for, human life is disregarded, and souls are dying without knowing Jesus.

If you’ve ever looked around at the needs in the world today, and thought, “I wish I could do something, but what?”–this book is for you.

In this book, you’ll find information about issues like human trafficking, abortion, and orphans, inspiration to take action, real-life stories of people from history and people today, and a list of 102 ideas of how you can begin to do justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with God in your everyday life.

This book is not about doing things that necessarily look big and glamorous, rather it’s about how God can use the small everyday acts of justice and mercy and love. A single spark can light a wildfire. A single candle can light ten thousand. A tiny seed can become a great tree.

God is calling us to shine His light in this world, to be a voice for life and freedom, to share a message of hope. And no matter who you are, there is something you can do. You, dear friend, in a small way, can change the world.

What age level is this book for?

While I don't go into graphic detail, this book deals with difficult topics such as abortion and human trafficking. My recommendation would be ages 13-14+, but everyone is different as far when they're ready to read about topics like these, so please use wisdom!

I wrote this book with teenagers and young adults in mind, but I've had older adults read it, too, and be impacted by it!

What people are saying:

Do Justly, Love Mercy, Walk Humbly is an inspiring collection of true stories from history and modern times of Christians who have taken a stand to defend the enslaved, the vulnerable and the weak.

But this book is much more than a collection of biographical stories. It is a call to action. It is a beautiful reminder that God does work through ordinary people and that we can make a difference to the brokenness we see around us.

Savannah tackles difficult issues in a sensitive way. Though she doesn't sugarcoat evil, she skillfully presents confronting facts in a way that is appropriate for ages 13+.”
–Amy Ullrich, Author of the Heroes of Wessex series and founder of Christian Wordsmiths

“This is an amazing book that covers many of our nation's horrors with clarity and grace. It's very well written and gives a person insight into the sufferings that people of this world endure day to day. With facts, personal stories, and ‘102 ways you can take action,’ this book is sure to inspire you to step up and take action against the cruelties of this age.”

—Aleigha C. Israel, Author of A Light for Christ Collection and other books

“This is one powerful little book! …To sum this book up into one sentence: in our own individuality we are tiny, but when we gather together to fight a wrong, we are powerful. Savannah goes on to say, ‘God can use us as His hands and feet in this dark and broken world’…Don’t be fooled by the age of the author. Originally, Savannah Jane McCrary was fourteen when she penned this book. She realized that she was not too young to do something to help people in need and that indeed, God had called HER to be a woman of action.”
-Beth Gray, Compass Book Ratings

It is quite refreshing to read a book that does not cower from unpopular opinion, but boldly proclaims the truth of God's Word. She shares the gospel boldly and gives hope to those who have already made mistakes or have been shamed and embarrassed by things that have happened to them.

This book also included practical ways you can be the hands and feet of Jesus here on earth and I thought that was very wise of this author to include them. Sometimes people honestly want to help, but don't exactly know where to start. I felt that section of the book was very helpful.

I give this book 5 stars and recommend it to anyone who desires to learn more practical ways of sharing the love of Jesus to those around us.”

—Bekah O’Brien, Author of the Martha Knight series
