The Invisible Guide

The Invisible Guide

The kingdom of Elarda suffers under a tyrant’s rule. The few who hold to the words of the Forbidden Book and belief in the Creator often pay for it with their lives. The true heir to the throne is lost… or so it is believed. But a group of Rangers still search, believing that, somewhere, the true heir lives.

Brielle Fletcher lives in a little stone house in the little village of Glenville in the kingdom of Elarda. She has always wondered about the scar on her face and the color of her eyes and why it is so important to never go near the garrison or any soldiers. She also wonders about the believers in the Creator; why they are willing to die for what they believe. Then, one day, she learns the truth. But it will cost her more than she ever could have imagined. She embarks on a dangerous journey across a desert with her younger siblings, not knowing that their trek across the desert will awaken an evil that has long been asleep.

What age level is this book for?

It's recommended for ages 10 and up, though it may be fine for younger children as a read-aloud. I wrote this book thinking both of parents reading aloud to their children and of older kids, teens, and adults enjoying it on their own.

Content description:

Mild violence (a man is hung, and there is some fighting, but no graphic details). If it was a movie, it'd be PG. There is NO romance or other inappropriate content. There is no magic or witchcraft/wizardry. Supernatural elements are attributed to the Creator (God). There are dwarves, a dragon, and some evil fantasy creatures.

What people are saying:

"Is life worth risking to learn about God? This story deals with a country facing these choices… I love that Brielle is a strong yet unpretentious young lady. She knows her place within her family and despite fears and challenges, she knows without a doubt that they love her for who she simply is. Her honesty, integrity, and family first values make her an ideal character for real life girls to look up to...The author has done a beautiful job of not going into detail when bad things happen, making this a family friendly book that would be a great read-aloud for the family."

"I'm glad I read this book! This fantasy story is exciting + full of courageous characters with heartfelt devotion to the Creator. I enjoyed the themes of tight-knit family, the purity in this read, the characters who were willing to lay down their lives for truth, the fantasy elements that added a fun twist, the foreshadowing, + the beautiful ending! The world building felt unique and was fun to explore. I believe this book can be an encouragement to readers to lay down their lives for Christ, and I'm thankful for the work the author (+ multiple illustrators!) poured into this story. This was a fun story + encouraged me to love my family more fully! <3"

"I put off reading this book, and now I'm sad I didn't read it sooner! If you like LotR, Narnia, or other fantasy books, you'll enjoy this tale! I am impressed and love how Savannah wove solid Biblical truths through this fantastic world. Such a fun and exciting read! I can't wait to read the next book by this young author!"
